SEO Death?

There’s an article circling around the internet that seo is dead and replace by video content, images, and user reviews on web pages. This is hard to believe as both an internet user and optimizer. I can’t imagine if search results are more easily influenced by videos and images where if I wanted buy something only to come onto a website that’s heavy in video and less on informative content to persuade me to make a purchase, then I wouldn’t stay for more than 5 seconds.

Certainly there are a few indicators leading toward video content, but to insinuate the total dismantlement of seo is total hogwash. As long as search engines continue to thrive, seo will grow neck in neck. Clients who understand the value of seo campaigns will boost their business bottom lines as compare to paid advertising alone.

When I revisit client websites, a clear distinction is arrived that a majority is not doing enough to push out solid content. Sometimes I am frustrated and feel that instead of optimizing their current templates; a good amount of what they pay for should go into content creation via a hired writer.

Why you may ask? Because at the end of the day regardless of how many links or how optimized you templates are, content will win.

There’s no way SEO is dying. It’s surely changing, but it always has. Video marketing is shooting up the ladder lately, but I still don’t think that it will dominate SEO. The biggest reason is a bot can’t spider a video. It has no idea what’s on the video. Google (and other search engines) are sort of guessing where they should rank videos based on the sparse amount of text around them. I imagine this video craze will be nothing more than a fad, as it will get abused and eventually the search engines will stop caring about videos.

Sometimes I see articles about the death of SEO, and I think the search engines are pushing out wishful thinking.
While the best way to get first time readers has been ratings, The only real way to get return readers is to have good a relative content.
I don’t think having a great blog will kill SEO.
I just think it will make that job easier. Dave
