That’s the perfect line of what I have been going through these couple of weeks. Certainly I like a person and if they don’t reciprocate after a given amount of time then I don’t give a shit any more. It is a mantra of having some self respect instead of wishful thinking.

Yes she’s awesome and everything but I have learned not to give if the person does not give back or feel the same after the initial stages. Honestly I don’t give a shit anymore nor do I feel that deep interest in the individual that was there before. We may see it as cynical but the truth of the matter is that I am being realistic and subscribe to the mantra of having some self respect for yourself instead of giving it all you got to someone who can care less.

The situation is a bit more complicated than a random nobody, but hinges on the fact that I see her very often even if I try to block her out. I now know that I can’t like a person if they don’t reciprocate even if you truly felt the excitement that way in the beginning of every typical relationship.

I don’t hate her nor do I feel like I need to be with her anymore. Yes I have liked her very very much and would have gone great lengths for her. But as of the situation now, that likeness and camaraderie is out of the question simply because it takes a lot of time and wasted effort if that’s not what she wants. In the end have some respect for yourself and you’ll be so much happier and better off to refocus your energies on someone else.
