The Value of International Click Thru Traffic
Published August 11th, 2007 in SEOInternational click thru traffic is worth very little or none at all. On average, Google will pay close to a few pennies per click. A friend runs a site that gets over a thousand clicks every day but only manages to produce under twenty dollars on average per day. The website is content related with a well integrated Google 728×90 leaderboard banner, but according to Alexa the traffic is only ten percent from the United States.
Basically, when you are developing a website, focus on a majority of the traffic coming from the US to produce higher advertising revenue. This is because search engines consider international geo-targeted clicks remnant traffic. Concept is easy to understand: Would you pay good money for clicks from Lagos Nigeria? Answer is a simple no.
