No Jail Time for Michael Vick

From what we have learned from the Paris Hilton celebrity treatment of no jail time as long as you carry God’s book gracing daily newspapers’ front page, you can serve the sentence from home. Which means you can have everything besides four walls and a toilet. Who are we kidding to even think for a moment that Michael Vick will serve any jail time? Did Libby serve? Did Kenneth Lay serve? Vick had best contribute some money to Bush, and make it Western Union overnight.

While Vick is suppose to face a straight shooter judge, Henry E Hudson, who’s noted for being tough and fair, the Vick legal team is going to drag the case for the next few years and not allow Vick to tarnish his own name with any jail time. Or simply pay off the other part owners of the dog fight operations to take full responsibility, a few million will do just fine. The Kobe of football will not serve jail time, short and simple regardless of how the media plays up the story for more sensation. Move a long kids, Vick is only going to be late to training camp and will be starting as quarterback without question.

Like all good corporations, Upper Deck, Nike and Reebok drop products, ad campaigns of Michael Vick to appease dog lovers and PETA. Also, due to court obligations, Vick was not able to attend opening day of training camp.

Read the ESPN article on Vick and Blank (owner of Falcons) relationship. It seems like the guy had it all, but at the same time knowingly did these cruel things to dogs. I can understand if he ate them for survival due to starvation issues. But damn, this guy is rolls in millions and millions - and yet derives joy from seeing dogs kill off each other.

At first I thought it was no big deal, but the overhead photo of federal agents carrying off evidence from his estate tells the complete story. Very sad.

Sports writer wanting to give Vick a second chance. Hmmm, this is nothing as simple as Hilton flashing her beaver in public or violating driving drunk. I wonder if his attorneys are going to argue that these dogs were better served by training them to fight than what we normally do in this country in euthanizing hundreds of thousands of unwanted animals.

My money is on Vick getting away very easy with minimal mandatory jail time (where they need to make the prosecutors look good), because that is how the American justice system is set up. If you got the connections and money, it is very easy.
