Recent article in the New York Times indicate how long exposure to cosmetic removal chemicals are hazardous to people who work in nail salons painting and removing nail polish. Studies found a high incidence of “nail salon workers had miscarried, while others had rashes, fungal infections and asthma.”

Although a majority of workers in the salons are newly minted immigrants, as an educated patron, you should be hesitant to kill people just to look good. The owners of these salons can care less because the workers are expendable, as there are currently no known laws limiting the amount of exposure to their hazardous cancerous chemicals.
