Las Vegas Trip Report
Published September 3rd, 2007 in Off TopicMandalay Bay - very nice, and awesome artificial beach too. Decent Poker action where the waitresses were not responsive in getting drinks after asking for it 2-3 times. Their poker room can be improved.
MGM Casino - very accommodating poker room that seats the player quickly with top notch technology systems. I thought I saw the dealer rake 3 dollars before the pot even topped twenty dollars several times, which is not within the confines of the 10% rake (maybe some dealers were just lazy and rounded up too early). Poker room is smack in the middle of all the casino action, and a lion den too.
The Palms - poker room sucks, about three tables. Don’t bother. Lots of pimps and hos at the annual convention. Young party crowd. Very small casino overall.
Bellagio - big poker room, always packed with action. Didn’t get a chance to play there.
Venetian Hotel - Pretty nice poker room, with action even at 5AM in the morning (lots of morning donkeys at that time). Poker room hard to locate in the back of the Hotel.
Monte Carlo - Lots of people donking it up, trying to live up to the images of big time money players. Hit quads there but progressive jackpot had already been paid out earlier, and it was only $20. Gave dealer $5 tip.
Circus Circus - no comment. Crowded hotel and casino with over 3000 rooms, a total madhouse. Their poker room is not something to desire.
Overall there’s plenty of poker rooms to choose from and always within walking or driving a short mile or two.
Vegas is very fast paced, even faster than New York, so it is good for action junkies. Also a place to get desensitized on long legs, tanned bodies and boobs.

Las Vegas “The Entertainment Capital Of The World”. The city has giant mega-casino hotels, decorated with lavish care and attention to detail to create a fantasy-like atmosphere. The casinos have names that evoke romance and mystery - Luxor, Mandalay Bay, Rio, The Excalibur, the Flamingo. If Traveling around the strip, walking is a reasonable option as hotel-casinos are found close to each other. In fact, in most cases, at least two hotels are connected to each other either by bridge or underground or in the case of Excalibur, Luxor and Malanday Bay, by a complimentary rail shuttle. What a great place!
