How to Kill a Good Cause

I see the lung cancer ads on the subway stations, then I look at their domain name and think WTF are these people doing? I am talking about long domain names killing a good cause, or making it hard to get one’s message across. Unless a project is a kill project to begin with, just to get the government agencies off your back by sponsoring a public awareness program on the harms of smoking.

The domain in question is abreathawayfromthecure.org, my recommendation is to fire the person who thought of the domain and approved it. Even if they sit on the board unless they also sit on the tobacco board (then well done at killing the project before it even started).

This domain name is worst than the usual suspects of spam domain with dashes within the URL. With a domain name over twenty characters long, why bother?

Going to nominate another domain that fails miserably before it evens gets off the ground. http://www.helpstampouthunger.com

It is really not fair for the programs it is suppose to help, when they choose a domain name no worst than any MFA site where as this program should be year long instead of a one day event. Shame shame.
