Aweber Review

Note: This is an old Aweber review written previously, I can no longer endorse the product as their sales and technical teams are very unforgiving.

If you have found this page, then you already have a pretty good idea of what Aweber is and just looking for a few more reviews before signing up for the service. Aweber is a professional third party email marketing service that handles auto responders, and newletters.

So far into the fifth day of using the service I have no complaints and have made several product sales to old existing customers already. It kind of got me by surprise when the store referral link showed up as Aweber, which means they were buying directly from the double OPT-IN confirmation message because I was only importing the contacts into their system. I can not imagine how promising it would be when my newsletters are setup to schedule delivery at a bi-weekly or monthly basis. This means that Aweber has good standing relationships with email service providers such as AOL, Yahoo, Comcast, and others where none of their deliveries are sent directly to the bulk folders.

The system is not graphic intensive and loads very fast. Everything you need to run an effective email marketing campaign is available at your fingertips. Once you log in to the system, you see the stats of leads for the current day in addition to the day before. It tells you how many newletters were sent, the percentage that were undelivered, and how many opened the email message including which links they clicked on. The reporting section on which links people clicked on is a good measuring tool of popular items people are actively looking for. You can use this data to tweak the subsequent newsletter even more to target the readers into a buying decision.

What they say is true, out of sight really does mean out of mind. How else would you explain that customers made purchases immediately through an OPT-IN link when I have not finished importing all the contact emails and names to send out the first newsletter for another list?

Some tips on importing a big list is break it down to smaller groups because the Aweber system will freeze the import process if it comes across any block addresses in their system thus you have no idea what is going on with the thousands of names for several hours. It is recommended to use Excel to scrub the list as much as possible because a lot of email addresses may be out dated, remove the extra commas, apostraphes, and special characters in the email and name fields. This will help in getting your list up and running quickly without waiting for Aweber support personel to go through the list and fix the errors for you.

The system is build before newsletters became popular so some wording within the system you have get accustomed to, however in the end, it does the same functions in getting your messages delivered. Follow up means auto responder, which can be set up to deliver continuous messages to your subscribers sequentially. Broadcast means newsletters (I was a bit confused by this terminology and spent a good ten minutes wondering why I paid for a system that did not have newletter delivery functionalities.) You can also do feed broadcast of existing blogs created from RSS feeds.

Never try to open up two session on Aweber with different lists, because the system will only update the most recently opened list. So if you think you were updating the older window, you will be in for a suprise when you find out that what was update was the wrong list. Alway stick to a single window, and you will not encounter any problems.

After five days, I feel like I am an expert now and have not used their live chat help yet.

I love using aweber because it is so cost efficient at sending a large list of emails out to customers. I have been using it for over two years without any problems.
