Turn Off Login and Registration

If your directory is not a forum or a community, do not expect submitters to keep reusing the same login to submit different sites because that is just not going to happen. The requirement to register before submitting a site to any directory is a major roadblock to the success of that particular directory unless it is exceptional. Take DMOZ for example, it is a very good directory but it does not require any kind of registration, and they make the submission as painless as possible for any site.

Submitting different sites under the same email or login is not a good idea to begin with unless you are a directory spammer. A majority of site submitters use different emails for every site submitted because it is easier to track which directories the site was submitted to.

Another reason is that submitters are dealing with thousands of directories to visit and they will probably mark your directory for last when they exhaust their list which is like never because hundreds of new directories pop up every week. And you wonder why your directory is not getting submissions?

Directories that require a log in just skipped by me. There are just too many options out there to have to jump through hoops. Title, url, description, name, and email are all of the information that they need.
