Website Promotion with Roboform

If you are a directory owner then you have probably heard about how great Roboform is for semi-automating directory submission at least a few times. It basically fills out all your forms with a 99.95% accuracy because it is not smart enough to read captcha (the distorted text verification) just yet. Allowing you to go through a long list of directories in a short amount of time.

Upon first trying out their free version about 3 years back, it met my needs but I needed a couple more custom fields and bought the full version. I have been roboforming the sites I am involved in ever since and gained 1st page natural listing on all the search engines for their major keywords. I am not in any ways trying to fool the search engines, because directory submitting is a legitimate strategy for building backlinks. This is different from submitting all your sites to FFA (free for all) and guestbooks because submitting to those would be considered spamming. Either try to roboform your site to the top or follow other strategies recommended by the SEO community such as writing articles and submitting that to build natural backlinks.

Getting back to roboforming. I do it because I can see my competition gaining in backlinks on sites like Marketleap where a steady uphill graph indicates their aggressive backlink building. Then it would be a good idea to open up the handy spreadsheet with sites collected from all over the internet and start submitting. I have managed to collect over 3000 directories with about 1300 free directories strictly for promoting new sites and getting them indexed well on search engines. On average I may submit for about 30 minutes to 1 hour on random days (or whenever I feel like it) with roboform, because it becomes more of a data entry job that does not pay well if you spend all your time submitting which is why some site promote themselves through article submissions, press releases and blogging.

Think of the site you want to promote as a celebrity. Placing a site into a directory is like a celebrity appearing at a local event where not a lot of people will notice them. Submitting an article with your site’s link attached to it and having it propagate on the article sites is like a celebrity leaking a hot story to the tabloids that is displayed on every newsstand across America. Writing a press release for your website is attune to a celebrity making an announcement, which will be picked up by news sources but not as hot and discussed as much as leaks. Finally blogging, the culmination of all things a celebrity must do to keep themselves in the spotlight. When you blog, it is like a celebrity going on talk shows to promote their new work or films to a half captive audience (people who read your blog).

One site I want to mention that has a fascinating amount of backlinks in a short period of time is Alive Web Directory (I am not in anyways connected to Alivedirectory, nor getting paid for this mention). According Marketleap, the site has 600k in backlinks in 7 months - that’s more than Coke.com and About.com combined. Given the short amount of time the site has been operating, the numbers are incredible. The feeling I get from DigitalPoint forums is that the owner spends a good amount of time and money promoting the site (there was one mention that he even paid for forum signature links) thus allowing him to charge good money for sites that want to be listed on Alivedirectory. This is the kind of commitment and success every directory owner should aspire to. If I was a corporation and had money to burn, I would hire the alivedirectory owner to do my SEO.

Why roboform? Because my marketing budget is tight and the starlets I am promoting is currently shining brighter than sites that are just starting out.
