Marbury Sneakers
Published September 9th, 2006 in Interesting SitesStephon Marbury of the New York Knicks endorses his own line of sneakers and clothing called Starbury (produced and sold exclusively at Steve and Barry’s Stores). Keeping in line with S&B’s retail mission of offering quality clothing at affordable prices, the Starbury sneakers are priced at fifteen dollars a pair compared to the outrageous prices of one hundred and seventy five dollars for a pair of Jordan’s. The Starbury sneakers are produced in China using the same top quality materials as the Jordan’s and LeBron’s. Marbury’s new sneakers are definitely worth checking out and buying.
In addition to these two sneaker styles there are a total of eight styles to choose from. The Starbury brand includes a clothing line with over fifteen different designs. Let’s hope Steve and Barry’s start selling online pretty soon because a lot of us do not like shopping at malls. Currently, the only place to get them online is eBay.
On a SEO related side note, Starbury Website is not search engine friendly, nor optimized as the page containing the SWF file lacks simple description and keyword metatags. An effective search marketing campaign should make Starbury.com show up in search results when people search for “marbury” or “marbury sneakers”.

I coach a high-school age, church basketball team and would like to contact with Starbury about sponsoring the team with sneakers and jerseys. This is the first year the team is together and they are about to play in the Jr. Knicks league. We are also planning on hosting an International boys basketball team from Nigeria in April 2007. Starbury’s participation would be wonderful. The name of the team is the Highland Eagles.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was seen wearing a pair of sneakers from Marbury’s Starbury line that retail for under fifteen dollars at tonights game vs the New York Knicks. Now if you can only find them for sale on the internet, that would be another story. I give Steve and Barry’s a big thumbs down at giving the shoes a fair chance with a half hearted online marketing and fulfillment plan.
I, too, would like to know why I can’t information about how and where to purchase these sneakers. My 13-year old grandson would love them.
Bj, they only sell the Starbury Cyclones or SMX for fifteen dollars at a physical store since Steve and Barry’s do not serve the online market because it would not be cost efficient to sell low cost items with a shipping cost of five dollars. To find a location where you can buy different styles of the Starbury sneaker, use the store locator on their website.

NBA super star Ben Wallace joins the Starbury Movement by endorsing and wearing Starbury shoes in games. Ben’s own shoe is being design by Rocketfish, and will also be carried by Steve & Barry’s which means NOT FOR SALE on the internet.

I do not have a website but I would like to purchasse the Starbury Sneaker and cannot find a store that carries them
I saw Steve Marbury on Neil Caputo’s show on Fox News
If he means what he says, why are the shoes so hard to find??
Is this a publicity stunt or for real?
thanks

The Marbury shoes are definitely real. However, the internet distribution channels of the Starbury brand of products are sub-par or non-existent thus allowing eBay auctions to profit from such inefficiencies. Give it another month or two, and demand may catch up with Steve and Barry’s business model.
I would like to commend Starbury for being the first to buck the “status quo”, and offer something he was endorsing at such an affordable rate.
The Starbury clothing and sneaker line are now my official uniform. Casual cost efficient and stylish!

They really should optimize their site better. More people should know about these more economic shoes…perhaps it would drive the sneaker price down as a whole.
